How do you define “Me Time”?

“Me Time” is the time in your day …that you devote totally to you, doing things that renew your mind, body and spirit, doing something that is not related to your role as a mother, employee, wife, daughter or sister.  Basically, “Me Time” is that time in your day that you spend doing things that you enjoy, or resting, dreaming, planning, reading, journaling or just thinking.

Dedicating time to focus on ourselves is the key to health and happiness.

If you are reading this thinking, “I don’t even know how to define, “Me Time!”  No worries…just take a few minutes and answer these questions:

  1. What do you enjoy doing?
  2. What re-charges your batteries?
  3. What brings you peace?
  4. What things do you do to help you feel balanced?

Now of the things you identified, what can you do consistently on a daily, weekly or monthly basis to enjoy your “Me Time”?

This is how I’m re-defining my “Me Time” Plan…

  • Daily Morning Prayer
  • Pilates 2x’s week
  • Cardio 3x’s week
  • Monthly Pedicure
  • Monthly Massage
  • 20-30 minutes/week planning my Forward Moving Action Items (because being organized makes ME fill like I have a handle on things).
  • 10 minutes each evening planning my most important actions for the next day (because my time is important and I want to spend it doing those important actions that will help me achieve my goals).
  • Writing my blog cause connecting with othe busy moms is important to me and allows me to re-charge my batteries.
  • Spending 1 hour each week de-cluttering
  • Connecting with my friends
  • Taking an exercise class with fun music

Just writing all these items…gives me something to look forward to.
